In particular, two of the most resourced and extensively evaluated policies of recent urban and regional policy: the Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) and the New Deal for Communities (NDCs). The paper looks at what was achieved and what wasn't and considers the implications for the future of spatially targeted policy.
