Identifying the Patterns, Prospects, and Pitfalls in Community Foundation Growth and Development

December 1, 1992

In her report on the community foundation project in Michigan, Kathryn A. Agard examines the patterns of growth and development in Michigan. Do community foundations follow a predictable series of steps as they grow? This study seeks to shed light on how community foundations develop over time, and increased asset size, through a series of identifiable growth stages. The Council of Michigan Foundations provides this publication as a part of the Michigan community foundation project jointly supported by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.
